The NHL’s two most up-to-date growth groups can be taking heart stage within the 2024 Winter Classic.
During the NHL on TNT pregame broadcast of Monday’s Winter Classic between the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman introduced that the Seattle Kraken will host the Vegas Golden Knights within the 2024 version of the Winter Classic.
The 2024 Winter Classic can be performed at T-Mobile Park, the house of MLB’s Seattle Mariners.
This marks the primary time that the Golden Knights and Kraken will take part within the Winter Classic. It can even be the primary time that the annual New Year’s contest can be performed in a serious metropolis on the West Coast.
It would be the second out of doors recreation for the Golden Knights, who fell to the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2, within the 2021 out of doors recreation at Lake Tahoe. This would be the Kraken’s first out of doors recreation.
The Golden Knights debuted in the course of the 2017-18 season and have reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 4 of their 5 seasons as an NHL franchise. Meanwhile, the Kraken had their inaugural season in the course of the 2021-22 marketing campaign and are at the moment of their second season as an NHL franchise.
Both groups are trying like playoff contenders because the 2022-23 season strikes alongside. The Golden Knights at the moment lead the Pacific Division with a 25-12-2 file (52 factors) whereas the Kraken sit in fourth place within the Pacific Division with a 19-12-4 file (42 factors). However, the Kraken at the moment personal the highest Wild Card spot within the Western Conference.
